CHEMPARAKY - ST. Joseph's Seminary
The Major Seminary "scholasticate St. Joseph" is in Chemaparaky, is about 37kilometers far from Aroor. There, young students have a year of novitiate and three years of philosophy, before making their theological studies that will prepare them for the priesthood. This year the novices are 7 while 22 are professed with temporary vows.
The priestly and religious vocation is a gift of God, perseverance in the vocation is the result of grace and freedom of every person, then the prayer is a necessary requirement. In the Gospel Jesus says:"Pray to the Lord of the harvest so that He send laborers into his harvest," and prayer for vocations is a daily duty of all of us, but also an help because many young people in research or in vocational training path can continue with joy and serenity in the same way.
