- General information:
The Parish “Ntr. Sra. del Recuerdo” (Our Lady of Remembrance) is located in a suburban zone of Madrid. There are around 15.000 habitants between a middle and middle-low socioeconomiclevel. Some families are “hit” by the consequences of drugs and delinquency. A part of the population is old and with very low income. In the newly built areas the population is more normalized, with young families having children.
The Josephan community formed by two priests and a brother is present in this parish from October 1987, when the liturgy was celebrated at a basement garage, almost without any structure, in a background of shantytown and drugs.
Now the situation of the district and parish improved, having a new Parish Church inaugurated and consecrated on April 18, 1999 and new structures for pastoral, formative and sport activities.

EVANGELIZATION
Catechesis for children:
It accompanies the children so that they may acquire attitudes and values which will help them to mature their faith in Jesus, involving their parents as first educators in such process, whose goal is to make them feel members of the Christian community.
Catechesis for adolescents and young people:
It animates the adolescent and youth to deepen his faith path in groups, ending into a personal and communitarian option for Jesus.
Family Catechumenate:
It carries out a simple and discrete relationship with married couples that may question them on their condition of Christians.
Catechesis before Baptism:
It makes aware and prepares the families in their commitment as transmitters of faith and love to their children.
Catechesis before Marriage:
It prepares and makes aware those who are engaged to form a Christian and welcoming family, filled with understanding and love.
Reflection group: Bible and Life:
It deepens, enriches and analyzes the experiences of faith in the light of the Word of God, and it is a place where express freely our doubts and disquietudes.
Missions and support to the Third World Group:
It renders aware the Parish community about the third World and collaborates in projects and activities on these questions. It organizes monthly the Fair Trade Sundays.
Health Ministry:
It makes present the Good News of God’s unconditional love for all men and women to the sick ones, both at their home and in residencies or hospitals.
Apostolic Mothers Association:
They pray for vocations and support vocational projects.
Family of Murialdo:
It brings to know the Josephan charisma those who wish to be part of our sensibility in favour of others.
LITURGY
Eucharistic Adoration:
They keep present, in the Thursday’s prayer before the Tabernacle, the joys and sorrows both personal and of our world.
Liturgical Group:
They give new life, prepare and animate the liturgical celebrations so that they may be an opportunity to transmit the Good News that God loves us and an authentic expression of the life of the Parish Community.
Song Group:
They animate and motivate the liturgical activities creating a festive and celebrative climate.
Cleaning Group:
They offer their service so that our Parish Community may be a welcoming and pleasant place.
SOCIAL ACTION
Caritas - Welcome:
The group cares for and helps those who are more needing. It makes people aware of these problems so that they are generous (time, clothes, food and money) and sharing.
Caritas - Unemployment:
It receives, informs, orientates and accompanies the people looking for a job.
Day Centre for children and youth and Families project:
It establishes bonds between family and educators for the good of the minors through study, amusement and free time.
Social Guarantee:
It guides people in learning a trade and in a quick entry in the labour market.
Workshop of Handicrafts and Sewing:
It is a meeting point for the women of the district, where manual abilities and group life are developed.
Sport:
The goal is to strengthen friendship, closeness and face together the disquietudes our life presents through sport. By now there are five teams of Five-a-side Football in different categories training once a week and playing a tournament on Saturdays.
Economic Council:
It manages the economic resources administering them according to evangelical criteria. It makes the faithful aware of their co-responsibility in the parish’s economical self-financing.
Pastoral Council:
It knows the Parish’s reality and makes it known to all the groups and also the parishioners.
Commission for Celebrations:
It keeps united the Parish groups in a relaxed and gratifying ambience. It coordinates the necessary elements in order to celebrate the main feasts.
